Pension calculator

A pension calculator aims to help you understand the basic principles of a pension and how payments and time frames affect your final value. Pensions are VERY complex and are affected by many factors not covered by a calculator. It should not be used as the basis for choosing or starting a specific pension, you should always do that with the help of an Independent Financial Adviser.

For this reason we have not included a pension calculator directly into this resource but have instead identified a pension calculator which is from a third party. We have ensured that this calculator is from an independent organisation with nothing to try and sell you.

Before you use any calculator consider the following:

• Decide how much you can afford to save each month.
• Decide when you want to retire.
• Think about the level of retirement income you are going to need. Remember, your circumstances may well be very different from those you have today.
